The process for the Unit 4 visioning committee is winding down.  You can see drafts of the working group reports and other informaiton here .  I anticipate you will also soon see a draft of the plan if one isn’t already posted.  These last 3 weeks vision committee members have been working to incorporate working group information/goals into the overall report.  Meetings have generally been from 5:30-9:00 and everyone has been working hard on the plan. 

The plan reflects the ideas brought by the community at the community forums and through the working groups as well as the goals from the vision committee.  Administration and several board members have been present to observe and participate in the process along with members of the community and other entities (Parkland, U of I, City of Champaign, etc.).   The plan will be presented to Unit 4 at a study session on September 8th and then on the 15th the Board will vote to (hopefully) adopt the plan. 

A huge thanks to Stig Lanesskog, Strategic Planning and Assessment Specialist  at U of I and Elizabeth Perrachione, Community-based Mediator and Facilitator along with Bruce Knight from the City of Champaign who ran our meetings and facilitated the process.  Also a huge thanks to the working group members who provided the reports that are the basis of the plan.  Finally, a thanks and credit go to Unit 4 and the Board who asked the community to participate in this process and allowed us the space to create a community driven plan.
