CHAMPAIGN, IL - Current At-Large Champaign City Councilwoman Deb Frank Feinen is running for election, citing the need for the Council to continue working to, revitalize downtown, embrace technology, economic development, upgrade and renew neighborhoods and maintain and rebuild infrastructure.
Feinen is honored to have the support of both former Mayor Dannel McCollum and current Mayor Jerry Schweighart in the election. “Having the support of both Dannel McCollum and Jerry Schweighart is an honor. Both have contributed so much to our community, especially in terms of building cooperation to get things done for the benefit of City residents. I want their spirit of collaboration and pragmatism to continue with future Councils.” Feinen said.
Feinen, an Attorney and Partner with the downtown Champaign law firm of Nally, Feinen, Bauer, Bullock & Mann, P.C., who has been serving as an At-Large Council member since August, wants to continue her service. Feinen explained, “I am proud of our City Government and the services provided to the citizens of Champaign. I welcome the opportunity to give back to our community through public service. I want to work to continue the excellent progress our City has made in recent years.”
Feinen has been a resident of The City of Champaign for more than 30 years. She served on the Champaign County Board from 1992-2006, serving as Vice-Chair for four years. She is married to Chuck Feinen and the mother of five-year-old Karlee.
